Why Ladies Polo?

Women's polo is experiencing an explosive growth in popularity, consequently attracting great exposure by the worldwide polo media, involvement of some of polo biggest female patrons and well known sponsors such as Jaeger-LeCoultre and Audi have run teams.

Polo is an incredible sport and one of the few where women can play alongside men at the top level which is a huge freedom. However, respect for professional women players, until recently, has been greatly overlooked. On an equal playing field with the men, women have yet to reach higher than a 5 Goal handicap, even though many have dedicated their lives to the sport. Introducing women's handicaps has been a big step forward to giving women polo professionals the acknowledgement they deserve. The 'all women' tournaments allow players to showcase their skill and have the same opportunities as men to travel and make a living as professionals.

High Publicity - Low Cost

Running costs of a top level women's team are far lower compared to the top level mixed tournaments in terms of entry fees and professional fees.

Support for Women Professionals

There are still some chauvinistic attitudes to overcome. I'm no stranger to those. But I'm determined that women's polo won't be dismissed, but will be given the energy and the funding that it needs to push it into the big leagues and fulfil its potential. That's why I've chosen to sponsor a women's team at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club's Polo Festival.

Reach an International audience

Women's polo also covers a huge International circuit that is well publicised and supported.  International ladies polo tournaments are held in Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the USA, France, Spain and Argentina to name a few. Argentina has even started the women's equivalent to the Argentine Open. This is a huge step forward recognising female players in the sport.
